CamRadar Support

Troubleshooting information for network scanning, nearby-device discovery, Android permissions, device identification, and CamRadar purchases.

Need direct help?

Contact CamRadar support and include your Android version, phone model, and a short description of the problem.

Contact Support

Before contacting support

1

Check permissions

Open Android Settings → Apps → CamRadar → Permissions and verify that permissions required by the scanning feature are enabled.

2

Verify your connection

For local-network scanning, make sure your phone is connected to the Wi-Fi network you want to inspect.

3

Disable network isolation

Guest Wi-Fi and some routers prevent devices from communicating with each other. CamRadar cannot bypass router isolation.

4

Restart the scan

Wireless environments change continuously. Stop the current scan, wait a few seconds, and run it again before assuming a device is unavailable.

Frequently asked questions

CamRadar does not find a device I know is connected
A connected device is not always visible to another device on the same network. Common causes include:
  • Wi-Fi client isolation.
  • Guest-network isolation.
  • Separate VLANs or subnets.
  • Device firewall rules.
  • The device is sleeping or offline.
  • The router blocks peer-to-peer communication.
Why does Android request a location-related permission?
Certain Android Wi-Fi and Bluetooth discovery APIs historically require location-related permissions because wireless identifiers may potentially be used to infer location. This does not necessarily mean CamRadar is attempting to determine your physical location.
Can CamRadar find every hidden camera?
No. A camera may not be connected to the same network, may use a different radio technology, may be offline, may use cellular connectivity, or may not transmit anything detectable by your Android phone.
Why is a device shown as unknown?
Android and local networks frequently expose only limited identifiers. If CamRadar does not have enough reliable information to classify a device, showing it as unknown is safer than making an unsupported identification.
Can CamRadar tell me the exact distance to a device?
Wireless signal strength is not an accurate distance measurement. Walls, interference, antennas, transmission power, reflections, device orientation, and other factors can dramatically change the measured signal.
My scan results change between scans
This can be normal. Devices may sleep, reconnect, change addresses, move between access points, alter transmission behavior, or become temporarily unreachable.
I purchased CamRadar Pro but features are locked
Make sure Google Play is signed in with the same Google account used for the purchase and that the device has an internet connection. Reopen CamRadar and use the application’s restore purchase functionality if available. If the entitlement still does not restore, contact support and include the Google Play order identifier. Do not send payment-card details.
How do I request a refund?
Purchases made through Google Play are processed by Google. Refund eligibility and refund processing are therefore subject to applicable Google Play purchase and refund policies.
Does CamRadar hack other devices?
No. CamRadar is designed for device discovery and analysis using information legitimately accessible to your Android device. It is not designed to bypass passwords, authentication, encryption, or security controls.

Information to include in a support request

Providing the following information significantly improves troubleshooting:

  • Phone manufacturer and model.
  • Android version.
  • CamRadar version.
  • Which scanning feature was being used.
  • Exact behavior you expected.
  • Exact behavior that occurred.
  • Whether the issue happens consistently.
  • A screenshot if it does not expose sensitive information.
